Squirt is a grapefruit-flavored, caffeine-free, carbonated soft drink created in 1938 in Phoenix, Arizona, and introduced to the market in 1939. It is an iconic citrus drink characterized by its easily recognizable, catchy, yellow packaging and tangy taste.

So, no, Squirt is not a Pepsi product.

Is Gatorade Owned By Pepsi?

Gatorade is a drink formulated to replenish electrolytes and hydration lost during athletic sports. It was created for and named after a sports team, “Gators,” of the University of Florida.

Currently, Gatorade is owned by PepsiCo.

Is Mug A Pepsi Product?

Mug root beer is what pops into your head when you think about root beer. With its characteristic foamy head and iconic root beer taste, Mug is the ultimate fan favorite.

The Mug root beer we know and love today is a Pepsi product and is owned by PepsiCo.

However, Mug was not always called Mug root beer. It originally started as Belfast root beer and also gained popularity as that, too.

Later Belfast root beer went through a rebranding and was purchased by Pepsi in 1986, which took Mug root beer to a whole new level, giving it a chance to appeal to a broader audience and consequently become the standard go-to root beer.

Is Lipton Owned By Pepsi?

Lipton is a household name associated with all things tea. Even though it is a British brand, hot or cold, Lipton is the go-to for tea all over the US.

Lipton provides a wide variety of ready-to-drink beverages and an array of teas. Lipton Yellow Label, Lipton Brisk, Lipton Iced Tea, Lipton Pyramid Tea, and Pure Leaf are all brands of fan-favorite beverages of Lipton.

Lipton is owned by a company called Ekaterra, not Pepsi. However, Pepsi and Unilever-the same parent company that owns both Ben & Jerry’s and Sunsilk, do have a joint venture with Lipton: Pepsi Lipton International, which specializes in Lipton bottled iced teas.

Is Gatorade Harmful?

Gatorade is delicious. All their flavors are addictive and make our post-exercise recharge fun and tasty. But is it healthy?

The composition of Gatorade raised health concerns as it contains a significant amount of sugar and sodium. A 20-ounce bottle of Gatorade contains a whopping 34 grams of sugar, which makes drinking Gatorade daily harmful.

According to a study by the University of Washington, a standard bottle of Gatorade contains 14 grams of sugar per 240 milliliters which is 6% of its total composition, and 450 milligrams of sodium.

In 2010, a bill was proposed to ban the sale of Gatorade in public schools in California on concerns about the health of teens and whether they should be consuming energy drinks daily.

The American Heart Association recommends no more than 36 grams of sugar consumption for men and 25 grams for women per day. A single 20-ounce bottle of Gatorade completes the whole day’s consumption in one serving, and having more might pose a threat of adverse effects.

However, Gatorade zero is also available, with zero sugar and zero calorie content! This allows you to enjoy your favorite energy drink without worrying about sugar intake. How great is that?

How Did Pepsi Come To Acquire Lipton?

Lipton became a part of a joint venture of both PepsiCo and Unilever when they agreed to bottle teas and market them as ready-to-drink beverages.

Pepsi did not acquire Lipton. PepsiCo was rumored to acquire Lipton from their joint venture partner, Unilever. However, Unilever dropped its tea business, and in June 2022, it was acquired by CVC Capital Partners, which also owns Ekaterina. Currently, Ekaterra owns Lipton under the parent company CVC Capital Partners.

Conclusion

PepsiCo owns many of our favorite soda brands, including Gatorade and Mug Root Beer.

In the health world of internet moms, Pepsi products are a big no-no for their kids due to their low nutritional value and high sugar content.

Pepsi came out with diet and “zero” versions for almost all their products to cater to a wider audience and keep their acceptance for famous and best-selling brands like Mug root beer and Gatorade.
